The staff of Viljoen Architect consists of architects, architectural and computer technologists.  Our staff is the key to our success.  The firm has been deliberately kept to an intermediate size in order that the principals and associates are actively involved with all of our projects.  We constantly visit sites in the Greater Toronto Area, update and keep in touch with quality design and innovation, and members of our staff make trips to major American housing markets.  Within the last ten years Ken Viljoen has annually visited either Europe, South America, and Australia to review good design, old and new.

Repeat work from established clients is a prime business objective.  This has been achieved by an absolute commitment to quality service, execution of design and working drawings, site inspections and on time delivery.  We visit all of our completed projects to review the endurance of the design approach taken, and of the built form itself.

The majority of our work entails community planning, designing production and custom houses of all sizes and costs.  Our work also encompasses numerous Market oriented Multiple Family and Seniors projects.  We have completed commercial and office buildings as well as a number of retail plaza's, a large mixed use complex in Aurora, Ontario, several restaurants and a large recreational facility in Newmarket.

In our involvement in Housing for Seniors and the Over 55 Market, our prime objective has been to provide, within budget, attractive, well designed, safe, low maintenance, user friendly environments.  Our firm, Viljoen Architect, has designed a number of such projects including rental and non-profit.  However, we primarily service builders in the open market where we have designed from the affordable market to luxury condominium buildings and townhomes of condominium, freehold and common element tenure.

Our work has been recognized by a number of home builder and civic design awards and honors.

In May 2004, our president, Ken Viljoen was bestowed a “Lifetime Achievement Award” by the Greater Toronto Home Builders Association (G.T.H.B.A.) for his outstanding commitment to the home building industry.
